How Arctic Cat displays codes
Arctic Cat publishes one combined code table in the owner's manual with 4 code families. P-codes (for example P0033) cover powertrain faults and follow the common industry numbering used by most scan tools. C-codes (for example C0063) cover chassis functions such as the tilt sensor and the backup/reverse warning circuits. U-codes (for example U0100) mark lost communication between controllers on the CAN bus.
When the machine detects an unsafe tilt angle it cuts fuel delivery instead of showing a circuit code, which the manual lists as the FUEL OFF row. Machines equipped with Electronic Power Steering print a second, separate table in the Power Steering section: self-monitored EPS codes in the C13xx range (C1301–C1329), published on the EPS codes page.
Reading the label
C0063
C0063 = tilt sensor circuit high. The C-prefix marks a chassis circuit, not a component inside the ECU.
P0500
P0500 = vehicle speed-sensor. The P-prefix marks a powertrain/ECU fault.
The 2026 Prowler XT tables in detail
The Arctic Cat hub currently indexes 2 tables from the 2026 Prowler XT / XT Crew owner’s manual. The main diagnostic table, printed on pages 32–33, contains 111 rows. The EPS table, printed on page 26 in the Power Steering (if equipped) section, contains 29 rows. Together they account for 140 published Arctic Cat rows, all from the 2026 model year, and they are the only 2 Arctic Cat code pages in the dataset.
The main table is one combined C/P/U sequence, not 4 separate tables. Its 111 rows split into 103 P-codes, 5 C-codes, 2 U-codes, and 1 FUEL OFF row. The P group runs from P0030 to P2610. The 5 C-codes are C0063, C0064, C1263, C1264, and C1265. The 2 U-codes are U0100 and U0155. The last row is FUEL OFF, whose printed description is “Tilt Sensor Activation Code.” P-codes make up about 93% of the main table; the 5 C-codes, 2 U-codes, and 1 indicator row account for the other 7%.
The EPS table is a separate section with a contiguous C13xx range: C1301 through C1329. All 29 codes are present and no code repeats. None of those codes appears in the 111-row main table, so the 2 pages do not overlap. The EPS table has 29 rows but 28 distinct descriptions because C1305 and C1326 both print “Rotor Position Encoder”. A reader who sees only a C-code cannot tell from the prefix which table it belongs to; the module or the cited section does that.
The main table prints one short description per row and no separate condition column. Examples include C0063 “Tilt Sensor Circuit High”, P0500 “Vehicle Speed-Sensor”, and U0100 “Lost Communication with ECM.” The table begins with C0063 and ends with FUEL OFF, so its rows are not sorted by prefix or by code number; they keep the manual’s printed order. The EPS table also keeps the manual’s order, from C1301 to C1329.
The main table’s 111 rows carry 111 distinct descriptions. The 29-row EPS table carries 28 distinct descriptions because C1305 and C1326 both print “Rotor Position Encoder.” Neither table adds a condition, severity, or test column: each page reproduces only the printed code and short description, so the row order stays the manual’s order rather than a site-assigned order.
The FUEL OFF row is also the only row in either Arctic Cat table without a letter-prefixed code. It sits at the end of the main sequence and is not repeated on the EPS page. The EPS page’s 29 codes are all in the C13xx range and none appears in the main table, so a reader can use both pages independently without deduplicating rows.
The hub’s coverage note separates “model-code entries” from “unique table rows.” The first sums every row in every Arctic Cat model-year record, including records that share a table. The second sums each published page once. For Arctic Cat both numbers are 140 because the 2 records point to 2 different tables; there is no shared canonical table in this brand. The same counting rule produces different totals for Polaris, where many model years share one table.
Both pages cite the same OEM-hosted owner’s manual PDF. The main page cites General Information / Diagnostic Trouble Codes, printed pp. 32–33; the EPS page cites Power Steering (if equipped), printed p. 26. The citation does not carry a separate manual P/N, so the model year, model name, section title, and printed page are the identifiers used on the page. The site does not host the PDF, page images, or scans.
Arctic Cat’s 2 tables use manufacturer C/P/U labels throughout; there is no SPN/FMI column in either table. That differs from the Polaris pages, which mostly publish SPN/FMI pairs, and from the Segway pages, which use system letters P/U/E/T/A and print an FMI-style value inside each ECU code cell. The comparison is a format difference, not a claim that one brand’s code is more specific than another’s.
The Arctic Cat set is deliberately narrow: 1 model family, 1 model year, and 2 sections of one manual. It does not include another Prowler year, a Wildcat table, an Alterra table, or a service manual. Those omissions describe the current source boundary, not what Arctic Cat has published. Each code page reproduces the code and short description only; it does not add a cause, test step, or procedure, and it does not reproduce the manual’s page images.
The table map is the quickest way to choose a page. The main table is the larger of the pair and contains the P/C/U sequence; the EPS table is the smaller C13xx sequence. Both pages use the same layout: a filter field, a row count, the full table, and a source box with the citation. The 111-row main table is the largest single Arctic Cat table in the dataset and the only one that contains the FUEL OFF indicator row. The 29-row EPS table is the only Arctic Cat page limited to a single C13xx range. Those facts explain why the hub has 2 pages instead of one merged table: the source sections are different, the code ranges do not overlap, and the printed page citations are different.
What is next
Coverage is limited to the public OEM documents cited on the model pages. New Arctic Cat pages are added when a public diagnostic table is available to index.
