2023 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 Black Hills Edition fault codes
The 2023 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 Black Hills Edition publishes a 64-entry C/P/U table that is not the 111-entry table used by the 2025–2027 Prowler and Alterra manuals. This page lists all 64 rows in the manual’s order, with the printed labels and the manual P/N.
Scope note
Built from the 2023 Alterra 600 Black Hills Edition owner’s manual (P/N 2263-355), General Information / Diagnostic Trouble Codes, printed p. 46.
The table has 64 rows: 7 C-codes, 56 P-codes, 0 U-codes, and 1 FUEL OFF row.
5 descriptions are printed without a trailing qualifier: P0233, P0483, P0500, P0520, and P0615. The page publishes them as printed; it does not invent a qualifier.
The 2023 table is distinct from the 111-entry 2025–2027 table. The 2023 manual also publishes the 29-entry EPS table, which is shared with the other manuals and covered on the EPS page.
The Black Hills Edition is a trim of the Alterra 600. Use the 2023 page for this model year and the shared 2025–2027 page for the newer manuals.
Table profile
This page reproduces 64 entries from the 2023 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 Black Hills Edition owner’s manual and manual P/N 2263-355.
Rows keep the manual’s printed order, from C0063 to FUEL OFF.
The table uses manufacturer codes rather than SPN/FMI pairs. The printed codes group into 56 P-codes, 7 C-codes, and 1 FUEL OFF row.
Every printed code carries one title in this table.
These counts describe the rows on this page, not every manual in the archive. The source box below lists the exact citation for every record on the page.
What the 64 rows contain
The table opens with 7 C-prefix rows. C0063 and C0064 are the tilt-sensor high and low/short/open rows. C1263 through C1265 cover the backup/reverse circuit, its buzzer, and a low/short/ground state. C1400 is the fuel-level sensor open circuit, and C1418 is a memory power failure. The C group is therefore not just the tilt and reverse circuits: it also carries the fuel-level input and a controller memory condition.
The P block covers the engine and chassis circuits: O2 heater and O2 sensor, MAP, intake-air and coolant temperature, throttle position, fuel-pump relay, cylinder #1 injector, crankshaft angle, EVAP purge, primary and secondary fan relays, vehicle speed, idle air control, engine oil sensor/switch, system voltage, ECM CAN shutdown, starter relay, VIN programming, sensor power, ignition coil, and ignition switch. The table ends with FUEL OFF. The page keeps the manual’s printed order rather than sorting by code.
Why this table is not the shared 2025–2027 table
The 2023 Black Hills table and the 2025–2027 shared table are different publications. The 2023 table has 7 C-codes, 56 P-codes, 0 U-codes, and 1 FUEL OFF row. The shared table has 5 C-codes, 103 P-codes, 2 U-codes, and 1 FUEL OFF row. The 2023 table includes C1400 and C1418, which the shared table does not; the shared table includes U0100 and U0155, which the 2023 table does not.
That difference is why the 2023 rows are not merged into the shared page. A merge would either drop the 2023-only C rows or add rows to a table that the newer manuals do not print. The 2023 page keeps the 2023 sequence intact, and the shared page keeps the 2025–2027 sequence intact. Use the page that matches the manual in hand.
The labels that stop short
5 2023 descriptions have no trailing qualifier: P0233 prints “Fuel Pump Relay Circuit”, P0483 prints “Fan-Secondary/Left Relay Control Circuit”, P0500 prints “Vehicle Speed-Sensor”, P0520 prints “Engine Oil Sensor/Switch”, and P0615 prints “Starter Relay Circuit”. Each code sits near qualified neighbors — P0231 and P0232 for the fuel-pump relay, P0482, P0484, and P0485 for the fan relays, and P0616 and P0617 for the starter relay — but the manual does not print the missing Low, High, Open, or Short qualifier on those rows.
The page publishes the labels as printed. It does not add a qualifier that the manual does not show, because a reader comparing the page with the printed table should see the same text. The table profile below records those rows as printed quirks.
What the table does not include
The table prints a code and a short description only. It does not print an SPN/FMI pair, a fault-setting condition, a healing condition, a wiring diagram, a test procedure, or a parts list. The page therefore has no FMI glossary and no condition columns. It also does not expand a code into a repair step or a safety determination.
The EPS table is separate. The 2023 manual publishes the C1301–C1329 EPS rows in the Power Steering section, and those rows are covered on the shared EPS page. A C13xx code belongs there; a C/P/U code from the main table belongs here.
How to use this page
Record the exact code, confirm the model year and trim, and note the manual P/N and printed page. The table below keeps the manual’s order, and the filter can search by code or by a word from the description. Use the 2023 page for the Black Hills Edition and the shared 2025–2027 page for the newer Prowler and Alterra manuals.
This page is a label index. It does not provide repair steps, parts advice, or a diagnosis for a specific machine. Codes can vary by trim, market, and running changes, so the cited manual remains the source for the exact machine.

Reading the table
The code column reproduces the printed C/P/U code. The description column reproduces the manual’s short fault description. The table has no SPN/FMI column and no separate condition column.
A label identifies a monitored circuit or condition. It does not confirm that a named part has failed, and it does not establish whether the machine is safe to operate.
Write down the full code, the model year and model, and the conditions when it appears. That record is what the manual and a service provider use to match the entry to your machine.
Source note
This page publishes short labels from the public OEM owner's manual chapter, not the manual's long-form repair prose. The source box below gives the exact chapter and model-year coverage.
