Polaris family hub
Polaris Ranger fault codes by model year
Full-size utility UTVs. This hub links every Polaris Ranger model-year record to its exact table anchor, names the table generations, and keeps the family boundary separate from the model-name list.
What the Polaris Ranger hub covers
Ranger is the full-size utility side of the Polaris archive. The current set runs from the 2022 Ranger 1000 through the 2027 Ranger 1000, with the 2026-2027 Ranger 500, the 2026 Ranger SP 570, the 2027 Ranger 600, four Ranger Diesel years, and the 2023-2024 Ranger XP Kinetic. These machines do not share one diagnostic chapter. The hub keeps the model-year matrix visible so a Ranger 1000 table is not confused with the smaller Ranger 500 or the diesel table. Ranger 150 is deliberately outside this hub because its table is shared with the RZR 200 and is indexed under Youth.
The reviewed taxonomy assigns 16 Polaris model-year records to this family, spanning 2022-2027. Those records resolve to 5 published table pages and 5 distinct table fingerprints. The pages carry 1,055 model-code entries, which collapse to 337 unique table rows; 17 manual P/Ns are cited across the family. 5 of the 5 pages serve more than one family model-year record. The largest page is Ranger XP Kinetic / Pro XD Kinetic with 93 rows; the smallest is Ranger Diesel with 32. These counts describe the published labels, not the number of possible codes a machine can store.
The family is a navigation layer, not a claim that every record uses the same diagnostic chapter. A model can stay in the same family while moving to a different table, and a table can serve several model names without becoming the same machine. The matrix below keeps the model-year record, the table page, the exact anchor, and the manual P/N in one row so the citation survives the grouping. The model-year changes reference carries the same fingerprint logic at the exact model-name level.
Model-year matrix
The matrix lists every model-year record in the family, the table page it resolves to, and the printed manual P/N behind the record. A shared table appears once as a page but may have several model rows, each with its own anchor. The anchor is the part that preserves the model-year citation: it opens the same table at the section that names the machine and the manual. A model-specific page has no shared anchor because the page itself is the table. This is why the hub can link every record without duplicating the full code table on the hub page.

5 of the 5 pages carry more than one family model-year record. The page-level row count is the full OEM table, not the number of rows that mention a particular trim. A page with 93 rows is still one table; the model anchors explain which manual and which model-year section cite it. The manual P/N column shows up to two printed numbers and a plus count when a shared page cites more. The manual source index lists every source record and public file behind those numbers.
Table generations and year splits
The build compares the row content of each table and groups identical rows under one fingerprint. 5 generations appear in this family: Table A (2022-2027; 3 records; 83 rows); Table B (2022-2027; 4 records; 32 rows); Table C (2023-2027; 5 records; 78 rows); Table D (2023-2024; 2 records; 93 rows); Table E (2026-2027; 2 records; 51 rows). A generation can cover one model year or several; it can also contain several pages when the same rows are published under different model names. The table below makes that structure visible without merging pages that the OEM published separately. The generation labels are local to this hub and are not OEM chapter numbers.
| Generation | Years | Pages | Model records | Rows | Open |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Table A | 2022-2027 | Polaris shared 83-code table | 3 | 83 | Open table |
| Table B | 2022-2027 | Ranger Diesel | 4 | 32 | Open table |
| Table C | 2023-2027 | Ranger 1000 / Crew 1000 | 5 | 78 | Open table |
| Table D | 2023-2024 | Ranger XP Kinetic / Pro XD Kinetic | 2 | 93 | Open table |
| Table E | 2026-2027 | Ranger 500 / Crew 500 | 2 | 51 | Open table |
A year split is not automatically a mechanical change. It can be a new manual edition, a relabeled row, an added module, or a different controller family. The fingerprint includes the code columns, the printed labels, and any fault-setting or healing text, so a wording change counts as a table change even when the underlying circuit looks familiar. The label-variance reference separates the keys with more than one printed description from the keys that only moved to another page. The code index is the cross-family view when the same key appears in several generations.
Sample rows from Ranger XP Kinetic / Pro XD Kinetic
The sample below is drawn from Ranger XP Kinetic / Pro XD Kinetic, the largest table in the family. It shows 10 rows out of 93; the full table remains on the linked page. The sample is ordered by how many model records carry the key, not by the manual's row order. The printed labels are short OEM descriptions, and the key column keeps the SPN/FMI, P-code, or manufacturer-code format used by the source. The sample is here to show the kind of rows in the family, not to replace the table.
| Key | Printed label | Model records | Years | Brand |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| P0914 | Gear Position Sensor | 17 | 2021-2027 | Polaris |
| P0916 | Gear Position Sensor | 17 | 2021-2027 | Polaris |
| P0917 | Gear Position Sensor | 4 | 2022-2025 | Polaris |
| B102A | Headlight Relay / Rear Running Lights Output Short Circuit to Ground | 3 | 2023-2025 | Polaris |
| C0256 | Winch Out Driver Circuit Voltage High | 3 | 2023-2025 | Polaris |
| C0257 | Winch Out Driver Open Circuit | 3 | 2023-2025 | Polaris |
| C0258 | Winch Out Driver Short to Ground | 3 | 2023-2025 | Polaris |
| C0259 | Plowing in High Range | 3 | 2023-2025 | Polaris |
| C025A | Autostop Winch Out Signal Fault | 3 | 2023-2025 | Polaris |
| C025B | Autostop Winch In Signal Fault | 3 | 2023-2025 | Polaris |
The sample's most frequent component labels are Gear Sensor, Gear Position Sensor, Winch Out, Autostop Winch In, Autostop Winch Out, and Headlight Relay / Rear Running Lights Output. That list is a reading aid for the table, not a diagnosis: a component can appear in several rows with different FMIs, and a row can name a circuit rather than a failed part. The full page keeps the OEM row order and the source citation. The Ranger XP Kinetic / Pro XD Kinetic table is the place to compare a specific code, and the decoder accepts the key formats used across the family.
Systems represented in this family
The family touches 8 of the eight system hubs: Fuel and air (29), Ignition (7), Sensors (59), Electrical (110), Communication / CAN (4), EPS (33), Brakes / ABS (7), Transmission / drive (48). Those counts are keys that have at least one model record in this family, so they show where the family's tables carry the most distinct rows. A key can appear in more than one system, which is why the counts do not add up to the number of keys in the family. The system hubs are the better entry point when the question is about a component family rather than a model year.
The system split also explains why a family page can be large without being a duplicate of another family. A Ranger and a Sportsman can both publish a fuel-pump row, but the row can sit on a different table with a different label and a different manual P/N. The system hub follows the component across those tables; the family hub keeps the model-year and manual context together. The FMI reference adds the failure-mode layer that applies to both views.
Related families and guides
The family shares at least one model-year record with Polaris Tractor / Work (6 shared records). Shared membership is a navigation convenience, not a claim that the tables are identical. The guides below explain the table formats, the model-year comparison method, and the low-voltage cluster pattern that appears across several families. The decoder is the shortest path from a code on a display to the published labels.

Reference and family boundaries
The hub is a family index, not a service manual. It links every table in scope, but it does not repeat the full code rows on this page. The Polaris Ranger label is a navigation grouping created for this archive; it is not an OEM family name, a model-year range, or a statement that every record shares a platform. The taxonomy review notes for this family are kept with the data file: Ranger 150 is classified under Youth, not Ranger, because its table is shared with the RZR 200. Ranger Diesel and Ranger XP Kinetic also appear in Tractor / Work; their tables remain Ranger tables. The reviewed membership is explicit, so a future source refresh that adds a model must update the taxonomy before the hub can publish it.
Label-only boundary. The rows on the linked pages are short labels printed in public OEM manuals. They do not establish a failed part, a repair procedure, a parts recommendation, or whether a machine is safe to operate. The cited OEM chapter remains the source for model-specific service information.
