2018 Gator XUV865E / XUV865M / XUV865R 2018 51 1 1

Rows are printed table rows. Each page keeps the OEM’s order and its own filter; a code is not carried from one model to another without checking the cited chapter.

03 / Code format

How John Deere prints codes

The archive has two John Deere records, both from 2018 Gator utility-vehicle owner's manuals. Each manual publishes a Level 1 SYSTEM and CONDITION table under 80 - Troubleshooting. The XUV835E / XUV835M / XUV835R manual (P/N OMUC13636) contributes 48 rows; the XUV865E / XUV865M / XUV865R manual (P/N OMUC13637) contributes 51 rows.

The tables pair an SPN with an FMI and print a condition sentence for that pair. The page keeps the printed condition and does not split it into a component name and a failure-mode meaning. The two manuals print different row sets, so a code from one is not carried over to the other without checking the cited chapter.

Reading a row

SPN 51 / FMI 31

CAN Communication Error

The SPN/FMI pair keys the row. The condition sentence is the OEM’s Level 1 label, not a repair instruction.

SPN 84 / FMI 0

Wheel Speed System Fault

An SPN can repeat with a different FMI; the condition changes with the pair.

04 / Table notes

What the tables include

Open a note for what each table publishes, what stays out of scope, and how to use the page.

What the John Deere tables publish

The Level 1 column covers wheel speed, CAN communication, charging voltage, engine speed, coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, glow plug, HVAC, instrument cluster, brake, 4WD, starter relay, and accessory supply conditions. The same SPN can appear with several FMIs; each pair is a separate printed row because the condition changes with the FMI.

The condition labels are full sentences. The page does not convert them into a short component/failure pair, and it does not add a probable cause or a test step. The linked OEM chapter is the place to read the full row in context.

What is not published

Each table also prints a Level 2 IMPACT and MITIGATION column. That column describes the impact of a condition and points to troubleshooting, so it is outside the label-only scope and is not republished. One blank SPN 523910 / FMI 31 row in each manual carries no condition text and is omitted, which is why the published counts are 48 and 51 rather than the raw 49 and 52.

The manual prints no model-year field. The 2018 model year comes from the OEM publication and launch material; the copyright is 2018 and the cited chapters were published 17 Sep 2018. Confirm the year against your machine and manual before using a row.

How to choose a page

Use the XUV835 page for the XUV835E, XUV835M, and XUV835R. Use the XUV865 page for the XUV865E, XUV865M, and XUV865R. Both pages accept an SPN, an FMI, or words from the condition sentence in the filter field. The decoder searches both records by SPN/FMI, and the manual source index lists the two P/Ns and chapter links.

Sources & scope

What the hub covers, and what it does not

Counts describe published OEM labels. The hub does not add causes, test steps, or repair procedures.

Coverage is limited to the public OEM documents cited on the model pages. All 99 published rows come from 2 model-year records (2018). The index reproduces the printed identifiers and condition labels; it does not add causes, test steps, or repair procedures.

The coverage page lists the dataset counts, and the manual source index lists the manual P/N and chapter behind each table. For cross-brand lookup, see the code index; the glossary defines the code terms.
